Carson Dowhan is a veteran of the Up the Creek – he’s been playing shows since the place opened up two years ago. Since then, he’s been working on solidifying his signature indie acoustic sound, and singing about stories of cluelessness and love in a new age. His inspirations include Matt Nathanson and Jason Mraz, two other Californian musicians.“What gets me ready to play a show is knowing that at least one person is hearing these songs for the first time,” he said. “You share these vulnerable lyrics with a room full of people and hope for the best.” He’ll be bringing sounds from his folk band’s self-titled debut EP, South Professor.
